Katie is a sophmore at Hempfield Area High School, attending Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center for Computer Information Science. She also is in the color guard for the Spartan marching band for her high school. During the band's off-season, Katie enjoys writing and listening to music, as well as learning new things. Being a four year consecutive winner of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), accomplishing her goal of at least fifty-thousand words during the month each year, she's had an accumlative word count of just over 271,000 words for the four year totals, not couting the total of eight Camp NaNoWriMo goal counts she's reached, of at least fourty-thousand during each month. During which time, she's worked on numerous novels, two of which she's successfully finished, hoping to eventually become a novelist like some of her idols, such as J.K. Rowling, Jane Austen, C.S. Lewis, Maya Angelou, James Patterson, John Green, and many others. While she spends a lot of her time between noveling and working on her website, she also divides up her time between poetry, traditional and spoken word, as well as journalism on her Tumblr.
